Christmas in Yola.

For a long time, I used to believe Christmasses outside Lagos are boring but I now know of another place where chrismas is not boring, and that place is Yola. After 4:30pm, my friend, Ehis, got me an invitation ticket for their NCCF
dinner Christmas program at the Yola international hotel. The program was supposed to start at 5:00pm. We got there like 15 minutes past five.
We saw people of different beauties, all excited. Wonderful. We showed our tickets and were allowed into the show hall. We sat and had a nice time watching the whole show. Like 20 minutes from the time we entered, pepper soup was served round with malta guiness -- :-* cool – first round. As the program continued, we had somebody came up to spark up the place with some comedy while we went for a second round of fried rice and some goat meats. Somebody’s birthday is 25th there. He brought cakes and cakes upon cakes – third round. At some minutes to eight, forth round – some fruity slices of melon, pawpaw, and pineapples were served round in a moderate cup.
While the menu menu menu went on, there were a lot of picture taking going on. And after the menus, there was a more fantastic scene, people singing praises and taking group pictures. It was very very interesting.I got to meet new people, new friends from different places.

Guess what? 7: 48 am Dec. 25th 2005, I made a very funny error of deleting all the files in my documents folder, meaning that all my semester work + my invention folder are gone :(. Very funny indeed. It is going to cost me at least 2 weeks of trauma and 3 months of work to regurgitate the load in the folder, if I will ever have the time to recreate it. What am I going to do now? So I started brainstorming.
One day in INF 201 class, Prof. Kah said something about Computer forensic experts: people that can help restore/undelete deleted files. This gave me an insight of how I can recover those files. Immediately I got online and I started learning about the whole stuff to see if I can be one of those people and to see how it will help me get my files back.
What an opportunity it was for me to be aware of the functions of the forensic softwares. Interesting. Suppose I did not have the problem of file loss, I wouldn’t have had a motivation of thinking of the forensics.
I want to prove stubborn by creating more problems for myself so as to see if I will have the opportunity of finding out more. Can you guess what I did?
Seven hours later, I was very vexed and so I formatted my hard drive and re-installed a new Win XP. Now, can I get back my files and pictures? The most of these softwares go for prices that are too unaffordable ( like $299). I don’t even know anything about how to use the softwares.
Though I have this opportunity to do this. Now, all I want is just my document folder.
Can anyone help PLEASE. There are a lot of important documents lost now including my first semester project.

Entrepreneurship is going to be full time fun next semester

He he he he he, I got it! I got it!! I got it!!! I got the business idea that’s going to storm the whole of AAUN next semester, that’s going to make a windfall profit of 800% ROI for the first quarter of next year at the start of its operations. I got it. What a wonderful idea I’ve got.
For a ling time I’ve been reading some stuff on how to get rich which includes “ the science of getting rich” by Wallace D Wattles, 1910. from there I learnt and got a motivation of “how to find/realize my domain, which will make me dominate the market by thinking (doing my business) in a certain way.
Do you think you have a certain way to carry out your business play to stunt Abti next semester? Don't you think a certain way of making money from your business is by getting people to see the what you have thought of? Have you been thinking of how to make people aware of your business?:)) That’s why I blog.

The first semester has finally ended

Friday Dec. 23rd 2005 we submitted our end of the semester project to Prof. Kah. It was a very interesting time as I think of how to get a nice rest during the holiday after the hectic prototyping process of the hecamis (healthcare management information system). What an experience it was for us being a part of the development process in the systems development life cycle. I have seen a lot of softwares. I have used softwares. I have read on how softwares are created and architectures. But this time, I’m in the making of it. We built a prototype J)
Let me introduce you to the futuristic award winning Hecamis (Health care management information system). Hecamis is our name for the management information system we are building for MATCO (Muhammad Arabi Tukur Company) hospital.
During the semester, we took the INF 201 course which took us through an introduction to the principles of information systems; basic principles, fundamental design/development and information development life cycle stages and ethics of the profession. We got equipped with a paraphernalia of knowledge we need to scale through the systems investigation, analysis, design and testing stages. We got assigned this project that made us applied our knowledge to develop a management information system (MIS) for MATCO in order to solve the basic and pressing problem of the organization which is in the area of records management.
We have been able to design the functional prototype for the records management of the organization and I will tell you something – it was fabulous. I really enjoyed my experience working in the group of 5 as the project manager. I had some 4 other crazy guys during the architecture, analysis, database design …. While I went gallivanting around, administering.
Though it can be sometimes very hard to be in a leadership position, but after achieving the desired goal, one tends to say something good about it.
